Good Point: Deconstruction Hub is an identity and system that creates community and culture around reclaimed materials.
A project in collaboration with Emanuel Ilagan, Katie Dixon and Alejandro Quinteros.
As a part of Citystudio's partner course with Emily Carr University of Art + Design, students were presented with the project of creating the visual identity for the City of Vancouver's first deconstruction hub. By first understanding the system of the deconstruction hub we explored mood, look, colour and imagery to create an identity for the deconstruction hub.
In creating the identity of Good Point we wanted to stay away from the usual 'green' image used in sustainable pursuits. Our decision to stay away from potentially greenwashing the system lead us to creating an identity that was based on using the visuals of the raw materials that would be reclaimed from deconstruction in the city and promoting community use of the system.
